Wee Monster is a kids wear brand with a spunky spin on it. Rather than fuss around with flowers and sparkles or the traditional blues and pinks — The mantra behind Wee Monster is about celebrating the idea: “Kids should be kids.”

Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?

Every kid has a monster in them, and we wanted to celebrate it! Since Tiny Monster was taken, we came up with Wee Monster. Actually, we like this name much better!

What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?

Denim denim denim! We are known for our denim jackets and vests with patch work on the back. Every design is original and comes with buttons and front patches.

What makes your business unique to the industry?

Wee Monster is edgy and comfy. No traditional blues and pinks or sparkles, our designs are made to be streetwear ready. Rock & roll vibes, but made with kids in mind. Always pre-washed and pre-shrunk. 100% cotton. Organic fabric and recycled zippers. Always made with love in LOS ANGELES, CA.

What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?

OURSELVES. It's all a mental game when it comes to business. We are very hard on ourselves and hit mental blocks, when it comes to dreaming bigger and appreciating how far we've come. Lucky for us, there's two of us. We tell each other to get over yourself and keep moving. #sisterlove

How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid- 19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?

We've connected with many of our customers, which is something we don't always have the time to do through the hustle. Wee Monster also pivoted to making masks to support our production team. Our production team is mostly made of seniors, who don't receive enough from Social Security. Masks sales go directly to helping them through this time. We love that we're able to create jobs for our local community.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

Freedom. Freedom of time. Freedom of choice. Don't get us wrong - we work hard, but if we decide to have brunch on a Tuesday, that means we work that Saturday. That's a choice we're able to make on our own terms.

What is your *must do* local activity?

We've been supporting our local businesses now more than ever. A few of our favorites are: @tanakafarms (drive-thru farm), @good_news_bbq (bbq delivered to your door), @wildlandorganics (organic hand sanitizer), @commonspacela (drinks), @mezcales_armadillo_negro (mezcal), @plant_paper (bamboo toilet paper), and @greenroombotanicals (plants).
