I believe every artists’ work is unique because of the unique life experiences, perspective, and training they bring to their practice. I approach my art from a place of healing, often setting an intention of achieving a sense of peace through my painting practice.
A piece of jewelry that has meaning and purpose can offer more value than opulence. For jewelry designer, scuba diver, stuntwoman, yogi and cancer survivor - Szilvia Gogh, pieces can be beautiful and say something too. This is the philosophy you’ll find within the collections of Gogh Jewelry Design. See My Story ->
I love to craft and make things so being able to turn my artwork into prints, stickers, cards and other products has been the funnest part of what I do.
I really love to make people laugh. My favorite part of doing craft fairs is seeing people laugh at my cards, read them out loud, and show their friends. I really enjoy taking photos and design processes that goes into each card. I also absolutely love taking photos of my cards out in the wild.
My work is political in a lot of ways. I like to say I make work for thinkers and drinkers. People who are not afraid to speak up and fight for what they believe in. People who are not afraid to display their beliefs on their body or on their bookshelf.
My uniqueness isn't in the art alone, but in the culmination of my artistic style, my voice, and my point of view. I also believe every artist is unique for the same reasons, as no two people have walked the same path in life to get to where they are. With a lot of time and trial and error, and persistence, I think we can all find our unique place in the industry.
My world has expanded amazingly by putting all my love and energy into what makes me happy. This is my happy place and I just want to spread as much of my happiness as possible. And that is why HAPPI*NESS HANDCRAFTED has been the best thing to ever happen to me.
I learned how to weave in 1980 in Hermosa beach Ca., i was taught what is called off the loom weaving at the time and I have put many twist on my designs I produce, making them all One of a kind designs using Driftwood and different kinds of woods I collect from the mountains.
I create designs that celebrate things we love ~ cats, dogs, cupcakes and even vegetables. I started with an ice cream design because to me it's colorful, makes a great pattern and is well liked so I also added the words...I Like Ice Cream.
