Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:
Autumn: Adventurous Hearts
I create jewelry and home goods inspired by nature and my own garden. If I'm not thrifting for cool houseplant books from the 70s you can find me elbow deep in the Garden or on a road trip to places around the world. I'm fascinated by the natural environment and use those elements in my work and my life.
Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?
Adventurous Hearts came to me while on the road with my little family. We are at our happiest when we go on adventures and explore the Earth together. I always thought it was engrained in our hearts and it's what fuels my passions every day.
What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?
My signature style is using my own flowers I grow in my garden. It became as a want to preserve the beauty of a flower from seed all the way to bloom. The item that comes to mind most is my mountain necklaces. These are filled with flowers grown in the Rocky mountains of Colorado.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
My biggest roadblock has been navigating social media and putting myself out there more. I tend to get caught up into the mundane hashtags and perfect captions but I realized the more you are just yourself unapologetically you attract your audience.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
The toughest part of this pandemic has been not being in person at shows in front of everyone. I'm focusing more on my online presence and interacting with my local networks and other businesses
What is your favorite part of what you do?
Using a passion I have that's in my life and feels a part of my identity. Getting to do that as a career is indescribable. When someone also falls in love with my work it's like finding a twin flame.
What is your *must do* local activity?
Going for a creme brulee grapefruit from Crema coffee shop and watching live Jazz on Monday nights at the basement speakeasy called Meadowlark.
