Onya and Sada: Green Pear Organics
We are two sisters who love sourcing the very best of natural and organic products. Everything we offer, from laundry and cleaning products to detoxifying Salt Sprays, we strive to find or make the very best available so we can pass it on to our customers. We believe personal health and the health of the planet go hand-in-hand therefore many of our products are plastic-free and refillable or reusable as well as clean and healthy!
Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?
We feel that our name, Green Pear Organics, is the perfect symbol of nature and its potential. We love green living, organic products and we love that the seeds of a pear can be sown into a new tree!
What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?
We put our heart and soul has gone into developing our proprietary Green Pear Organics Salt Sprays and they are by far our best-sellers. They purify, nourish and detoxify with 84 trace mineral and come in three amazing organic scents -- Citrus, Floral and Mountain :D We also offer $1 off our refillable bottles.
What makes your business unique to the industry?

My sister and I couldn't find many natural or eco-friendly products and Green Pear Organics grew from that need. We were first to the industry with many of our items like soap berries, stainless steel straws and bees wraps. We're very happy to now have return customers and people coming to shop with us for specific organic or reusable products.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
The biggest roadblock to our business has been Amazon. Amazon is the gobbler of small business and local shopping. We've worked hard to overcome by offering flat-rate, super fast shipping, excellent customer service and a focus on proprietary products that cannot be found anywhere other than at Green Pear Organics.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
The lack of local markets has been incredibly difficult to overcome. We have used this time to work on product development like our off-the-charts organic Hand Sanitizer. And we've connected with amazing opportunities like Local Undercover who recognize and are working to overcome the obstacles set out by Covid.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
The people. The people are absolutely the very best part of what we do. We've met amazing, inspiring makers, loyal and passionate customers and are grateful to have learned so much from all of them.
What is your *must do* local activity?
Whittier has some amazing hiking trails and walks from Turnbull Canyon Trail to Murphy Ranch and if you haven't spent a weekend exploring Uptown Whittier, you're missing a lot! Great dining, boutiques and an awesome local atmosphere not to be missed!
