Two brothers, one dream of delivering functional mushrooms in a delicious and healthy way.
It all started with an appreciation for foraging wild plants and fungi growing in our local environment. Exploring the forgotten tastes, textures, aromas, of the California landscape. At one point during a foraging journey we came across medicinal mushrooms. We discovered the importance of fungi in our environment and certainly within our bodies and with this knowledge, we knew we had to share it with others.
We set very high standards for ourselves, not willing to compromise on ingredients. Everything must be organic and our drink would have no chemical preservatives. Instead we choose the old art of probiotic fermentation. We believed that the healing powers of mushrooms could be enhanced by culturing them in coconut water, and the results were powerful. We only source mushrooms that are grown organically (USDA Certified) and tested vigorously for contaminants.
You can now enjoy two blends of Shroomshot's probiotic elixirs made with pure extract from wood-grown organic mushrooms. All hand-crafted in small batches.
What makes your business unique to the industry?
We believe we are the first to deliver the first functional mushroom shot with probiotics that offers healthy benefits. Also very important is that our shots taste DELICIOUS (which is not common with mushroom based foods).
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
Other mushroom drinks may not taste good or they use mushrooms with fillers. We have spent a long time developing a delicious blend of functional mushrooms with 100% organic ingredients with no fillers. Each shot has 1,000 mg of mushroom.ambassadors.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
We originally started selling Shroomshot at events but with the onset of COVID-19, we have started to sell/distribute our shots at natural food stores and online.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
Sharing our shots with people, and witnessing how they enjoy the taste and benefits of Shroomshot.
What is your *must do* local activity?
We like to hike and forage our local mountains, as well as play volleyball and surf our local beaches. We enjoy purchasing foods at local farmer's markets such as the Calabasas Farmer's market on Saturday mornings.
