Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:
We are a small screen printing shop that specializes in working with artists and designers.
Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?
I can't say it's an interesting story. After a few months of trying lots of different things a friend and I were watching Upright Citizens Brigade and he suggested the name.
What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?
Poster printing. It's what we love the most because of how much of an art piece it is. It's neat to see the different tricks artists use to make their prints more dynamic.
What makes your business unique to the industry?
We like to learn new substrates, and as long as we can get it flat we'll try it. We stay away from team sports printing and focus on creative projects.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
Organization and prioritizing. I haven't overcome it, I'm still trying to get better.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid- 19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
Scaling back employees and making sure our customers know that when they are ready to order again we are.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
Seeing a difficult job to completion is satisfying. Having a customer be so happy to see their work in print is gratifying.
What is your *must do* local activity?
Lois Mann's Restaurant is where we stop for lunch about once a week. It's like no other--there are at least 25 Christmas trees inside year round. The whole place is an ode to Christmas. It helps that their Italian sandwich is amazing. It's an uncovered Southside gem.
