Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:

Melanie with Wet Shaving Products: I handle all things social media and marketing for Wet Shaving Products. Anything from our social media platforms, YouTube channel, blog posts and bi monthly emails are handled by me. I love to interact with our digital audience and get to know our fans from all around the world. I am an Arizona native and just graduated from Arizona State University with my BA in Journalism and Mass Communications. Working for a small business has taught me how to be creative and adaptable to whatever is needed in the company!

Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?

Wet Shaving Products started as a razor sharpening business and slowly began to supply all things related to men's grooming. We are known for vintage style, old fashion shaving products, so Wet Shaving Products was the perfect fit for us...but we do sell beard products, hair care items and cologne.

What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?

We are most well known for our shaving soaps. Our soaps are used with a brush and are made in a variety of different scents. We have a vegan base and a tallow-based soap, and both produce amazing results. People quickly came to love our soaps for the variety of scents we offer and for our creamy formula that helps you get the perfect shave.

What makes your business unique to the industry?

Wet Shaving Products is unique because it is built on passion and on a desire to give our customers the best products possible. As a small business, we depend on feedback from our fans and customers and we try to give back to our online community in any way we can.

What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?

Since we have products for a very niche audience, sometimes it is difficult to make ourselves stand out in a market that is flooded with small business owners and other artisan soap makers. Other times, people don't understand our products and aren't willing to try new things. Helping others to understand our mission can be challenging, but the best part of my job is helping people learn how to use our products and the importance of good grooming.

How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?

Since we are a small business and the majority of our sales are done online, we have not had any drastic changes. We have temporarily closed our storefront and we are open for appointment only. Since we are a soap company, we already had cleaning and sanitizing practices in place to keep our products and employees safe. We are continuously being flexible and willing to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances around us.

**What is your must do local activity?**

Downtown Chandler is so much fun! There's always so many activities and events going on. There is a Western Gift Shop called 'Sibley's' that carries products from local artisans, including our most popular shaving products. There are also many Mexican food restaurants that can help you get a taste of authentic Arizona food! Take a stroll in downtown chandler and discover a piece of authentic Arizona culture.
