Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:
I have been a visual artist since I was a young girl. I wanted to find a way to combine my love for photography, travel and making things to start a creative business and that’s how Blonde Peacock was born.
Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?
Blonde is a synonym for Gold and Peacocks represent Transformation.
What is your signature style / item? What makes your business unique?
All of my designs come from my experiences around the globe instead of made on a computer, making them very celebratory of many cultures. And all of the clothing is the softest, comfiest you will ever find.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
My biggest roadblock was starting out on my own, with no financing. This has allowed my business to grow more organically and slowly. I overcame this by starting slow and steady and growing once the sales were steadily coming in.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
I’ve had to put a lot of energy towards e-commerce which I was neglecting because there were so many events to do. I’m learning a lot and I’m very thankful for it! I also became a Face Mask factory over night. I started making them for family members and when I launched them online, I received an insane amount of orders.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
I love connecting with amazing customers and the maker community!
What is your *must do* local activity?
So many in Los Angeles! A must do would be grabbing some vegetarian food on Sunset Ave and having a picnic at Echo Park Lake. Another must do would be an afternoon at the Broad Museum and then grabbing a bite to eat at Grand Central Market.
