Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:
I am a mixed media artist specializing in alcohol ink fluid art. I create both fine and functional art with the belief that everyone should be able to own original art.
What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?
My goal is to create pieces that are calming, balanced and almost like looking at clouds...everyone sees something or connects differently to each of my pieces.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
Making time. I work full-time as a graphic designer and have a family, so making time for creating my art is sometimes a challenge. Up until 4 months ago I had my studio in my home which made creating very easy, but moving into my studio was amazing and has forced me to carve out time for making art!
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
With the cancellation of art fairs and markets, I had to pivot and ramp up my online shop experience. I have also had to stop teaching workshops, and I am now thinking through how to create that experience in a virtual setting.

What is your favorite part of what you do?
Finding a new color combination or developing a brand new piece. I truly love doing commissions and working with a collector to create a piece that is perfect for their space.
What is your *must do* local activity?
My husband and I love visiting breweries and tracking down our favorite food trucks! As a family we are working on visiting all of the Minnesota State Parks with our camper.
