Period Six Studio a mother-daughter owned artisan gift store. We've taken our love for shopping together and curated a collection of local (Colorado) and American-made goods made by the coolest artisans we know!

Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?

Our name was birthed at an antique store, in a bin of letterpress blocks. My brother simply had to have the "period" and "six" blocks, at the time their meaning was unknown, but after years of being displayed in my parent's home office, they became symbolic of our family's love of eclectic shopping, letterpress & stationery, and the thrill of a good 'find.' It was a natural fit for what we set out to create.

What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?

Like our tagline hints, our signature style is that of "punctuated ephemera." We don't sell anything that is a necessity and it's ephemeral, meaningful in its short time, it packs a punch. We love color, snark, craftsmanship, and sentiment that accentuates our customers' own experiences.

What makes your business unique to the industry?

Period Six is unique in the way we marry a classic American folk style of art with an edgy, snarky, modern flair. In doing so we become the perfect place for multi-generational shopping partners.

What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?

Our biggest roadblock is in location, since we are not in a downtown shopping area we have to get creative when it comes to getting new traffic and strive to go above and beyond with our customer service to turn repeat customers into Period Six ambassadors.

How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?

During the pandemic, we've significantly minimized our store front hours and increased our online presence, offering shipping specials, local pickup options, and making appointment shopping available. It's definitely a different dynamic, but our customers have proven to be flexible, understanding and very kind in their support.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

A great day at Period Six is when we get to play a role in our customers' celebrations, what they choose for their homes and stories. Nothing is sweeter than seeing how a little treasure we've curated impacted someone's life.

What is your *must do* local activity?

Our backyard is home to Red Rocks and some great entertainment. A gem we don't hear enough about is the Cast Iron Tavern - the candied bacon is life changing!
