Janine: Rub’s Rub
My name is Janine Carr, creator of Rubi’s Rub skin creams. I suffered from psoriasis for 23 years, paying top dollar for lotions and creams that never seemed to produce acceptable results. Even creams from France were a disappointment. After learning about CBD and conducting my own research, I developed Rubi’s Rub and, amazingly, my psoriasis has vanished. CBD has also proven helpful for those who suffer from the pain of arthritis, other joint pain and general muscle pain. It was after seeing how Rubi’s Rub has helped family and friends that I realized that I needed to make this little miracle available to everyone. Those who have been living with pain, soreness or chronic skin conditions will truly benefit from the use of Rubi’s Rub.
Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?
We chose the name Rubi's Rub because "Rubi" was reminiscent of an older generation that might benefit from the CBD products
What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?
Our signature style is natural and organic inspired. We want people to know that there are other pain solutions rather than the prescription pills or chemicals found in pharmacies.
What makes your business unique to the industry?
We are unique to the industry because we have a personal connection to our customers. We like to hear how the product worked for each client and know if they have any questions.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
Our biggest roadblock has been breaking in to certain markets and changing the perception of CBD. We really work to educate people on CBD and the differentiation from THC products.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid- 19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
We have not been able to attend our farmers markets, which we would previously attend 3-5 per week! We have tried to boost our online sales during this time by joining virtual fairs and offer discounts.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
My favorite part of what I do is hearing back from clients and hearing how the CBD has helped them be able to live pain free.
What is your *must do* local activity?
My favorite local activity is dining at local restaurants around Bellflower and Norwalk. We love our downtown area and frequent many of those establishments.
