Jewelry
I started off just making lightweight earrings. I always hated heavy earrings but loved statement earrings. Using materials like leather, cork, and wood was the perfect solution. I later expanded my offerings to bespoke decor (Custom signs, etc). I love the process of taking someone’s vision and creating a piece that speaks to their heart or makes a statement.
My style is to alter something by hand sewing and crocheting into, and or adding crochet to something. To do this I start with an embroidery stitch (blanket stitch) with which to attach the crochet. I guess that's my signature style, hand stitching and crochet. But I also use a lot of funky bright colors, granny squares and mandalas.
All of my designs are uniquely personal to my travel adventures. As of now, I only do designs for countries I've had the pleasure of visiting and complete a character and landscape design for each.
A piece of jewelry that has meaning and purpose can offer more value than opulence. For jewelry designer, scuba diver, stuntwoman, yogi and cancer survivor - Szilvia Gogh, pieces can be beautiful and say something too. This is the philosophy you’ll find within the collections of Gogh Jewelry Design. See My Story ->
I like to design everyday lifestyle products which push boundaries, transform into works of art, and which you are dying to show off.
I use many different Silver smithing techniques, creating various different looks. Most artist stick to a couple techniques keeping a "look" where I venture out in technique and don't repeat a lot of my pieces. Most items are one of a kind.
I try to design pieces that blur the line between modern and classic, so that they can be worn for years without looking dated.
When it come to jewelry and home goods, many tend to be mass produced. Everything I make is handmade with a lot of attention and detail. I also think I offer styles accessible to everyone. Some other handmade jewelry can be very bold. While I hope my pieces make a statement, I also want people to be able to wear the jewelry everyday or keep the decor up on their walls year round.
I love the process of handstamping and making beautiful things! The quietness lining up the letters, spacing everything out and praying before I start each piece for the wearer of the necklace centers me to be able to make precise hits of the hammer. It becomes a spur practice that I am so grateful for.
Whether it is a jewelry piece from my own collection or a custom creation, it’s a very heart warming feeling when I can help a customer choose an item for themselves, a gift or a special occasion and receiving emails or dm's afterwards that are filled with joy.
My mantra is: Be Bold. Stand out. Make a Statement. Be YOU! My unique, bohemian-luxe style, my energy, my creativity all help to set me apart from others in the industry.
Jewelry is often a purchase made to honor important occasions, such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. and it is an honor to be a part of selecting or making these important pieces that carry so much meaning.
I create everything myself without outsourcing! I hand fabricate with metal or hand carve designs in wax and cast in studio while most jewelry companies outsource some or all of the process. I love creating, and this is what makes each piece unique.
I pour hours of love into every piece that I create. The reward is seeing people wearing my designs. That truly brings a smile to my face.
For me, the freedom to create whatever crazy comes to mind – to actually make something tangible – and the ability to navigate by my own inner compass are clutch.
Simplicity and different materials are my style. My background in architecture has always inspired me with the use of different textures.
My signature style is using my own flowers I grow in my garden. It became as a want to preserve the beauty of a flower from seed all the way to bloom. The item that comes to mind most is my mountain necklaces. These are filled with flowers grown in the Rocky mountains of Colorado.
I LOVE to interact with my customers; know their story and be a part of their story, connect with them over a piece, and ultimately, follow that piece up to its final destination and create a bond with the person who acquires it. That makes me extremely happy as it allows me to keep on seeing my piece over time, when those customers come to say hi to the markets year after year.
My creations are made with high-quality precious stones, crystals and sterling silver and gold. All of the gemstones and crystals that I use are carefully hand-selected (by me!) and often sourced directly from the mines themselves from all over the world including Mexico, Africa, Madagascar and Brazil. Each one has it's own unique healing properties and I encourage people to use their intuition in finding the piece that speaks to them!
